“I came to seek and save the lost.” (John 19:10) Who are the lost? In Isaiah 53:6 we are told “we all, like sheep, have gone astray…” For Jesus to say he is here to save the lost is to offer you the opportunity to be rescued from the impending doom you face because of your sin. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is God’s plan to rescue those who are lost. Jesus took the penalty for us. The death of Jesus provides the payment for sin. The resurrection of Jesus proves the victory over sin. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13). Have you called on Jesus? Have you asked him to save you?
